"New Bill Would Transform Cybersecurity at Dept. of Health and Human Services"

In support of improving upon cybersecurity practices at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the HHS Cybersecurity Modernization Act has been reintroduced by U.S. Representatives Billy Long (R-Missouri) and Doris Matsui (D-California). The passing of this new legislation would give the CISO a higher level of responsibility as well as require the secretary of HHS to create a plan pertaining to how coordination transpires when dealing with cybersecurity challenges and more. This article further discusses what the HHS Cybersecurity Modernization Act proposes and cybersecurity challenges faced by many organizations within the health care sector.
