New guidelines have been set by the UK government to improve upon the security of IoT devices. Manufacturers of IoT devices will be expected to ensure that passwords are highly unique and unable to be reset to factory default passwords. In addition, manufacturers will also be expected to strengthen the encryption of sensitive data sent via apps.
